Feeding more power via USB?
#1
I currently have an HDD hooked up. It has a 2 wire connector (2xUSB), one is extra power only.  If I were to put another power supply on this connector to take the load off the USB hub would the USB hub or board be damaged?

While I have wondered if it is completely safe, I do that all the time without issue.
