Hi,

It won't work out of the box, the standard android kernel actually have very few drivers working with exotic devices :

https://github.com/TinkerBoard/android_kernel

But you can compile your own kernel with correct driver, depending on your gps chipset, and write or find hal/jni driver and/or find it somewhere from another rk3288 android images... (rk3288 firefly board for example)

actually, only two uart are working on android with tinkerboard UART1 for kernel debug & UART2 (gpio33 & gpio 32) :

Connect ground of your gps to ground of tinkerboard
then connect RX of your gps to TX of tinkerboard (gpio32)
then connect TX of your gps to RX of tinkerboard (gpio33)

open serial connection on /dev/ttyS2 and then you'll see NMEA messages there... but it's still far from native android location service Smile
maybe you'll have to switch your /dev/ttyS2 in read/write mode to access it (chmod755)

Hi,
look here at my answer, it is not needed to compile whole android, only kernel: https://tinkerboarding.co.uk/forum/threa...ml#pid2590
