Which OS are you running? Which audio device are you using; jack, hdmi, or usb audio?

I had no sound issue after installing TinkerOS 1.9
Sound was routed to incorrect device. Just start playback open pavucontrol and change devices at Output tab

I installed TinkerOS 1.9. No sound via Audio Jack and HDMI port.
when i try to change it by pavucontrol.....it says "connection to pulseaudio failed automatic retry in 5s".

some where on web, i dound pavucontrol needs pulseaudio for proper functioning. pulseaudio is not able to run as it also error out.

Any clue on this.

I am able to figure out why i m getting following errors when i run pavucontrol:

*******************************
inaro@linaro-alip:~$ pavucontrol
** (pavucontrol:1140): WARNING **: Error retrieving accessibility bus address: org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.ServiceUnknown: The name org.a11y.Bus was not provided by any .service files
********************************

I am able to correct this problem by installing the at-spi2-core accessibility core, which is the parent of org.a11y.Bus:

sudo apt-get install at-spi2-core

But pavucontrol still says "connection to pulseaudio failed. Automatic retry in 5s".

I am able to resolve pavucontrol issue by doing all this:

**********************************
sudo apt-get purge pulseaudio
sudo apt-get clean && sudo apt-get autoremove
Reboot. Open a terminal again and type (ignore any errors with the rm command):

rm -r ~/.pulse ~/.asound* ~/.pulse-cookie ~/.config/pulse
sudo apt-get install pulseaudio
sudo alsa force-reload
pavucontrol

***********************************

After that my PulseAudio Volume Control is working. However i am not able to redirect sound to Audio Jack and HDMI port. there is no activity on OUtput devices tab in Pulse Audio Volume control.

Dear lalits21,

For the quick hotfix.
You can try with modify /etc/pulse/default.pa to fix this issue.

/etc/pulse/default.pa OLD Wrote:### Load audio drivers statically
### (it's probably better to not load these drivers manually, but instead
### use module-udev-detect -- see below -- for doing this automatically)
#load-module module-alsa-sink
load-module module-alsa-sink device=hw:0,0 sink_properties=device.description="BT_VOIP-Output"
load-module module-alsa-sink device=hw:0,1 sink_properties=device.description="SPDIF-Output"
load-module module-alsa-sink device=hw:0,2 sink_properties=device.description="Headset-Output"
#load-module module-alsa-source device=hw:1,0
load-module module-alsa-source device=hw:0,0 source_properties=device.description="BT_VOIP-Input"
load-module module-alsa-source device=hw:0,1 source_properties=device.description="Headset-Input"

Change To
/etc/pulse/default.pa NEW Wrote:#load-module module-alsa-sink
load-module module-alsa-sink device=hw:1,0 sink_properties=device.description="BT_VOIP-Output"
load-module module-alsa-sink device=hw:1,1 sink_properties=device.description="SPDIF-Output"
load-module module-alsa-sink device=hw:1,2 sink_properties=device.description="Headset-Output"
#load-module module-alsa-source device=hw:1,0
load-module module-alsa-source device=hw:1,0 source_properties=device.description="BT_VOIP-Input"
load-module module-alsa-source device=hw:1,1 source_properties=device.description="Headset-Input"
Or mark them all
/etc/pulse/default.pa NEW Wrote:#load-module module-alsa-sink
#load-module module-alsa-sink device=hw:0,0 sink_properties=device.description="BT_VOIP-Output"
#load-module module-alsa-sink device=hw:0,1 sink_properties=device.description="SPDIF-Output"
#load-module module-alsa-sink device=hw:0,2 sink_properties=device.description="Headset-Output"
#load-module module-alsa-source device=hw:1,0
#load-module module-alsa-source device=hw:0,0 source_properties=device.description="BT_VOIP-Input"
#load-module module-alsa-source device=hw:0,1 source_properties=device.description="Headset-Input"

We also would forward to our technical team to check why device number change on yours.
Please kind to wait our reply.
Thanks.
