Screen goes black and DTS

I'm not sure if it's a hardware fault, but no matter the modifications to Android my screen eventually starts going black for several seconds, then back on, then back to black, and so on.  The only fix is a reboot, or changing resolution to something else then back.  I've requested a replacement for my hardware just in case but curious if anyone has had that issue. 

Lastly, any headway on DTS/passthrough?  I've tried swapping the lib files but the ones for our chip are for 5.1 and the 6.0's for the other chip doesn't seem to work.  No DTS = No Tinkerboard for tv box.
